11-Year-Old Girl Shot In Philadelphia: Police

An 11-year-old girl was among the victims after shots rang out in West Philadelphia last on Wednesday, July 19, city police told Daily Voice. 

Police say two people were shot along South 52nd Street near Chestnut Street in West Philadelphia Wednesday night.

The girl was shot at on South 52 Street around 11:30 p.m., the department said. 

Officers arrived to find her with a gunshot wound to the hip.

A 32-year-old man was also shot in the leg, according to police. 

The girl was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by a private vehicle while first responders took the man to Penn Presbyterian Hospital, authorities said. 

Both are in stable condition as of Thursday, July 20, they added. 

No weapon was recovered at the scene and no arrests have been made. The Shootings Investigation Group is leading the probe, the department said.
